Lynn Hay - Our Queen, Honoured by the King

Lynn Hay celebrating with a glass of prosecco in Greenwich ahead of receiving a Medal of the Order of the British Empire

It’s with the greatest joy we can write that Lynn has been included in the King’s Birthday Honours alongside the likes of Kevin Sinfield, Emily Scarratt, Helen Mirren and more.

She will recieve a Medal of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to amateur sport in London.

For years, Lynn has been the beating heart of our Club. Whether it’s arranging fixtures, taping shoulders or screaming words of encouragement from the sidelines in all weather.

Alongside Rick, they’ve created an environment where young men can make friends and feel part of a special community in London - an often challenging place to find your feet. With the two of them essentially parenting hundreds of lost boys over the years.

She has been a pioneer as one of few women who represent, attend and contribute at county meetings, while also now taking part in schemes at a national level.

As the person who does the most unseen work - it’s brilliant to see her name alongside others who have made outstanding contributions to their community and the country.

We could not think of anyone more deserving.
